WHY EXECUTIVE COACHING?

The November 11, 2002 Business Week talks about how today's business executives face demands that are often impossible to handle alone. Problems with staff, ethical dilemmas, and global competition are just a few of the situations that must be dealt with on a regular basis. Business leaders are starting to realize that contrary to being a sign of weakness, it's a sign of strength and investment in themselves to receive coaching.

In addition, economic and market forces are placing unprecedented pressure on businesses to have their people perform at optimal levels. This is particularly true for top executives whose decisions and behaviors have significant impact on an organization's success.

Unfortunately, too many individuals never reach their potential. This can be the result of self-imposed restrictions (such as lack of confidence or an unrealistically high regard for their abilities) or by difficulties in relating to others. If someone lacks confidence, it's hard to inspire those who work for him or her. If they experience self-doubt, taking action becomes more difficult. Other executives can be too focused on getting their own way even when their decisions are not well thought out. Many of these limitations are unconscious, resulting in the individuals not being aware of the negative consequences for themselves and their companies.

Understanding and adapting the way one behaves toward others is a formidable empowering skill that provides a tremendous advantage in the workplace. Individuals who are able to develop the necessary trust and respect from fellow employees will have much more success in realizing their ambitions. An individual's ability to make people feel comfortable and secure is crucial to building effective relationships with customers, co-workers, supervisees and managers.

WHY YOU WANT EXECUTIVE COACHING

  • Is something holding you back from performing at your highest level?
  • Do you want the competitive edge of better communication and interpersonal skills?
  • Are you successful, but not satisfied?
  • Do you wonder if you're really doing what you were meant to do?
  • Do you want to improve your conflict resolution skills?
  • Do you have difficulty relaxing when you have the opportunity?

If you answer yes to any of the above questions, you're not alone. It's almost impossible not to have had some of these thoughts or experiences in your work. Yet many people find that they don't know what to do when they do encounter these situations. Whether due to lack of information or time, most people don't get enough training or guidance to help them resolve these issues. These are all areas where Larry can help you.

Larry D. Nisson offers executive coaching to motivated individuals who realize that enhancing their focus, work and people skills will help them function more effectively. Productivity of employees can also be improved with coaching and consulting.

Understanding what motivates people to succeed gives Larry a keen insight into what can interfere with gaining the accomplishment and satisfaction you desire. His coaching process assists clients in discovering and understanding their true strengths, weaknesses, skills and limitations. Then he helps them to remove the barriers and restrictions that impede performance so that they may begin the powerful process of developing competencies that will allow them to be the best they can be.

The result is that leaders and executives gain tools and strategies that allow them to cut the often invisible chains that hold them back.

HOW DOES EXECUTIVE COACHING WORK?

Larry will help you develop strategies to achieve your goals through a series of personal consultations. Problem-solving sessions can take place in your office or his, or you can confer by phone. The length and frequency of the sessions can be customized to meet your needs.

"Larry Nisson did an outstanding job of helping our staff to iron out conflicts and reduce employee turnover. He taught us how to make our needs known, yet preserve the dignity of the co-workers, making for a more relaxed and productive work environment. As a result, we have had almost no turnover the past four years."
